| Name: | Zatoichi |
|---|
Zatoichi is a blind man who has an otherworldly skill with a sword, and an uncanny ear for Cho-han (even-odd) games. Establishments do not appreciate the fact that he is able to hear the way the dice land. This also makes him a dangerous foe, but he is not dependent solely on his hearing for the many fights he finds himself in.
He prefers to be known as a wandering masseur, and he's very good at that as well. He also has an excellent voice and is skilled at playing the shamisen, when he can get his hands on one.
He always keeps his eyes closed, and is never without his cane.
He originates from the Edo Period (rougly 16th century) Japan.
Canon and Icons: Zatoichi is played with the personality of the Shintaro Katsu Zatoichi, and the canon from the movies is used, with occasional references to the TV series. The Takeshi Kitano icons are also in play, but both icon sets will not be mixed during role play. Only one or the other set will be used, with a preference for the Shintaro Katsu icons. If there is a preference during role play for one set of icons or portrayal of Zatoichi, please do not hesitate to send a message.
